Does that really really mean I can't see private messages sent to me? Is there a way to receive them through email?

If you want full PM privileges, then you need to pay for full VIP.

Providers, once they get reviews here and link their profile to their account, get the Free Limited VIP which grants that function too.  

If you want to post your email address for contact, you can, but unless you're a provider.... I wouldn't recommend it.  

Get a special hobby email that is completely separate from anything else you use

I am curious, Why not just join VIP? It's not that expensive in the scheme of things  and the benefits are well worth it.  Just pay the VIP membership so you can take advantage of all the features of TER?  Is there a reason you don't want it?

The first few weeks kinda suck being in limbo, but once that first review comes, it gets so much better. I think it took a month of me posting here before someone TOFTT. But, once that happened, it much smoother sailing.  

And, once you get at least 3 reviews, you'll be eligible to join the Provider Only board. After 20 reviews, you'll appear on the Top 100.
