I will be traveling out of state next month and plan to visit some providers I've read about on TER.  Some of them are quite well-reviewed, others have only one or two.  Most of the ones I'm considering also offer a half-hour rate.  Since I've never visited any of them before, would it be better to start out at 30 minutes?  Or maybe book an hour for the well-reviewed providers and a half-hour for the less-reviewed ones?  I'd hate to have to rush through a session but I know that some people recommend starting out at a half-hour if you don't know the lady.  Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks!

A lot depends on you.Are you a "fast finisher"? Are you interested in more than one pop? Or are you a one and done kind of guy? Do you like to go at or do you need a slower pace? Any nervousness on your part? Personally,I don't like nor do I recommend half-hr.dates.

Fast finisher-1/2 hr.
One pop and done-1/2hr.
More than one pop-1hr.
Slower pace-1hr.
Nervousness-1hr.

If you're looking for an "experience", I'd suggest at least an hour.  If you're looking to come & go, half should be fine.  IMHO, the half takes out any interaction other than the act itself.  Personally, that's not what I'm looking for, but I didn't ask the question.

An hour minimum.  A 1/2 hour only gets you a "slm bam thank you mam" experience.  GFE needs a minimum of 1 hour.

If you are a GFE fan, I recommend a 90 minute session, as a minimum.  Sixty is just barely enough to qualify, and you just won't get it in 30.

If they don't offer a 90 minute session, ask.

Smelly, you made two pretty wide-ranging blanket statements that simply are not true.

Depending upon the geographical location, 1/2 hour rates are offered by many top-rated independent providers and ladies from top agencies.
 
Also depending upon the geographical location, craigslist can be a very useful (and sometimes highly respected) advertising tool for hobbyists and providers.

To proclaim otherwise on either count simply exposes your ignorance of the prevailing marketplace practices in many areas of the country.

I just returned from a stellar hour+ GFE session with a young lady from craigslist, and some of my ATF's (all top-rated on TER) offer 1/2 hour rates, although that's not my personal choice.

mgr, I certainly defer to your knowledge of the hobby scene in Atlanta. The last time I visited your fair city was in the early-90s, which was long before I discovered this world of ours. So I have no doubt that your observations regarding the availability of half-hour sessions and the quality of providers available on CL are accurate - for Atlanta.

But I am intimately familiar with the hobby community in New York City, and I must agree with my friend and colleague Mr. Smegma. Here, published half-hour rates by quality providers, either local or visiting, are virtually unheard of - a half-hour MIGHT be available if one were to ask, though like you I never would, but providers who actively offer half-hours are really only bottom-tier ladies.

As for CL, there was once a time, a few years ago, that craigslist-NY was what you describe craigslist-Atlanta as today. But here, that time has passed. While it might be possible, with a lot of hard work, to occasionally find a diamond in the rough, the vast majority of CL-NY ads (I would say 90+ percent) are either (1) massage parlors or low-end incall agencies posting ads of ladies fraudulently represented as "independents" (2) streetwalker-type ladies who have discovered craiglist and post from internet cafes, but offer the same quality of services that they did (still do) on the street (3) guys who play for the other team and are trying to collect photos from guys on our team for nefarious reasons of their own or (4) ads posted by LE as part of a sting (most common in the suburban counties surrounding the city rather than NYC itself - though there have been some reports of NYPD playing that game).

So your major point - that in the hobby as in so many other things, regional differences abound - is absolutely correct. Vive la difference! But that is also something that we hobbyists should keep in mind when travelling - educate yourself on the local scene, because what you don't know can hurt you - a lot.

I agree with atl_mgr, if you are seeking a quality experience, you have to spend the time. I find that 1 1/2 hours is perfect...

I know it may be different elsewhere, but Phoenix is another market where you will be hard pressed to find any respected indies or agencies offer half hour rates.  Also, it is only the rare "diamond in the rough" found on CL there.

I've done that a couple of times since I moved to England, where half hours are quite common.  Once you cum, you are done seems to be the attitude.

Unless you really need it, and are pressed for time, which describes my 30 minute visits, they are not all that satisfying.  In fact they remind me of my pre-TER days in the hobby when I contacted newspaper ad ladies.  I know that many of them thought, "how fast can I get this guy off, and out of my apartment, and bring on the next victim".

If it a matter of finance, save your money, wait a couple of weeks for the next paycheck, and spend at least an hour with a well-reviewed lady, you'll be glad you did!

Some of us simply do not have the time for the full hour, and want to arrive, get down to business, and then leave within a half hour.

There used to be my favorite Asian woman I saw in Boston pretty much every week for around a half hour.  There was not even FS most of the time, but instead alot of licking and sucking and kissing.  It was kind of like a long lost girlfriend who wanted to please me.  The real interesting thing??  I met her on CL.  She would post once whenever she was advertising, and only leave the post up for 20 minutes until she got someone, and then would take the post down.  I got lucky and caught her post.

OH MY GOD!!!! IF YOU ARE SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY GO FOR AN HOUR.  AT LEAST MAKE IT WORTH HER WHILE.

I humbly agree, I'd like to see more 90 minute rates, you can spend 30 minutes talking and getting warmed up with massages, much better than 60 minutes I think, and 2 hours maybe a bit too long and costs a bit more money than I like to spend, but 90 minutes is in my price range most of the time
