As I read the reviews there are several different abbreviations used by reviewers
and I can't find any place on here which explains the meaning of the abbreviations.
and I am wondering, why use abbreviations when the words can be spelled out?

I don't know the link, but if you google 'urban dictionary', you should be able to find it.  Using abbreviations means nothing more than less typing when posting or writing a review.

On the upper right corner of this board it says "Self-Help Center" clock on it. There are many questions answered there. There are explanations for the abbreviations there too. Some of those explanations have links to the Urban dictionary. It's a good idea to read all of what is there.
