Form of donation?

I've seen that some providers' websites indicate that a hobbyist has the choice of providng the donation in the form of an item from a wish list, or perhaps a gift certificate.  Is that standard?  If the provider's website offers that option, is it permissible without checking with the provider to handle the donation in that form?  Thanks.

Some providers have "wish lists" or lists of items that they enjoy - particular wines or perfumes, etc. These are not items suggested as alternatives to their set rate, they are options available if a gentleman wishes to bring her a gift in addition to set rate. Most of the time, on the "wishlist" page, a provider will state something along the lines of "gifts and tips are not expected, but are appreciated". In general, you should not be expected to offer a gift or tip, but if you choose to do so a wishlist is there to give you ideas about what to give.

If the particular website you are looking at clearly states that gifts or wishlist items can be given in place of the stated rate, I suggest contacting the provider herself for guidance about her expectations because that is not typically how things are done.

One form does include a gift card to one of a few specific corporations listed on my site. I also have a statement of donation to a not-for-profit organization also listed with specifics as to the requirement.

Of course, like most providers who travel international, gifts of Gold are always considered a donation. (*This too is listed on my web site with specifics*)

In my case (and I am only speaking for myself..) several of the items listed on my gift page are actually considered to be a “suggested donation”
and not a gift in the generally accepted impression o fthe word gift.

I hope that helps to clarify some of the misunderstanding. I believe most providers who have such diversified “Forms of Donation” try to make it clear on their website. I’ll also encourage you to communicate directly with the provider you are interested in meeting to get her exact requests….. Kisses ~Tori
