Been a TER member since 2005, but I have't written alot of reviews. I'm starting to remember why (sorry mods... sarcasm :D)

Reviewed a recent provider and included her Backpage ad and it was unapproved. The reason why:

"No name for the provider could be found on the website that was included in your review. TER requires that websites list the provider's name."

This provider is particularly discreet and doesn't give her name. Fair enough. What to do... So I find her listed on 2,3 even 4 other hobbyist sites that are not to be spoken of in TER-land. All prominently display her name.  I link one and of course it's rejected for being linked to a competing website.

So I look further find the provider already listed and reviewed on TER. As recent as Feb-2011. Of course there are no URLs to existing websites linked. Still I include her TER ID# and resubmit... again unapproved.

Um... is this policy a bit asinine and in need of review?  What am I doing wrong here?

If she has an ID#, then she already has reviews, so there has to be an acceptable link on her profile.  Just use that.  Re the backpage ad, it's probable that by the time you submitted your review, her ad had expired and was no longer active, hence the rejection.  I see this all the time, you click on a link and all you get is a list of similar ads.  I have never seen the rule about her name appearing on the website so I can't help you there.  As a matter of fact, that's something that pisses me off about ads.  To often I see them wanting us to call the provider and she gives a number but NO NAME!!!!

You might consider making a suggestion on the Suggestion & Policy board about this problem  Sorry I could not be of more help.

they are "stage names".  Try searching on ad sites by email or phone if the don't have a stupid scramble on them.
