Not a newbie per se, but returning to TER and the lifestyle after a 5 year hiatus...
I suppose the one question I have is how can I provide accurate references to the providers I contact as I restart the fun? Screening is clearly an important process and I certainly have no objection to being screened. However, the last time I spent time with a provider was 2004...and I'm sure I won't be remebered on name alone...so providing an accurate reference is a challenge. In this regard, I'm back as a "beginner".
I've not yet contacted anyone. I've been looking for some of the ladies I knew. Regardless, I've always used my real name in my emails or phone calls; I've always provided my actual phone and email contacts. You'll see my name here is "eroticauthor" and yes, I am an author of erotica. However, I write under a female pen name (a marketing ploy; erotica written by female names sell much better!) but the email I use is my genuine personal account so that won't cause confusion.
The other obstacle I encounter is 'employer information.' It's me...I'm self-employed.
Advice will be appreciated. In the past, screening wasn't too much of an issue, but times have changed. I've never used a "pre-screening" service, but suppose that's an option. Any suggestions?
seeking. Hopefully, some of the ladies will respond.
I started about 5 1/2 years ago. Almost all of the ladies from back then are gone now, at least in Florida. There seems to be a large turnover in providers.
That's something I've noticed; but I got lucky and actually found a lady I used to see in ATL, but is now in Pittsburgh. Remarkably, she remembered me (or seemed to) and was delighted that I wanted to use her for a reference. Things are looking up.
But yes, I'd most definitely love to hear the ladies thoughts (or answers) to the questions.
like a bookstore or coffee shop. I'm more apt to trust my own instincts than any other info. I've learned the hard way that - in my town at least - asking for all that other info gets me turned down at a ratio of 100%. (Can't make a living as a provider if I'm always turned down.) Yes, public meetings means you and I see each other's faces which could be used to identify each other later, but so what? We can after meeting each other face-to-face in a more intimate setting, too.
Good points Jolene. When I was working as a pro-photographer, I often suggested a M&G to screen prospective models.
I've always wondered why M&Gs don't happen more often in the hobby.
As far as being turned down for screening, that doesn't make much sense to me. Screening is a part of the lifestyle now. I've never had any issues arise from screening.
Thanks - let's hear from more ladies on this topic!
