They are gonna check the name you give against your ID so it needs to be real, or backed up with paperwork.

Step by step here.... You check in to a hotel and give a credit card for deposit .. even if you decide to pay cash, they'll still want to see a credit card.
Next step you call the agency and they need the name that the room is registered under so they can call back to verify. What if you tell the hotel that you are checking in with a friend and he hasn't arrived yet.  His name (your new fake one) will be on the room and should be picked up by the operator if anyone calls.
So let's call the agency again with the fake and see if this works... OK, now what about when the lady get's there she should check ID but many don't because they feel the agency has already taken care of this ...if she wants ID you could tell her that the room is under your friends name (the fake) and show her your real ID. No matter what you are going to need some type of story to prove to her that your not LE.
The only problem here is what name does she give the agency when she calls in because the name you gave the agency will not match. Then again many times she just calls in to say that she is staying.
If your a smooth talker and she feels comfortable with you, she probably won't care, just flash the cash, this just might actually work! I may have to experiment with this.
hobby safe, hobby well, hobby all you can be ...

No help with an agency girl, but several independent providers I've seen have been willing to rent the room for me (she rents in her name)--I pay for the room over and above the fee, of course.  This is especially important to me if I see a provider in the city in which I live and where I do not want to give my name or have a hotel room on my credit card statement.  The provider gets the room, then I phone her cell number or, even, follow in my car and park beside the provider's car; she is watching for me from the room and cracks the door with a welcoming smile.
