It depends on what part of the country you're in. Some areas have LE who are involved in vice, sting operations. But those operations are very few and short-lived since word gets out very quickly when it's going on.

You're best bet is to use the TER reviews. A well-reviewed companion is not a cop. There are a few who have been arrested, more ladies than men, but they are few, by comparison to the hundreds of thousands to millions of people engaged in such activities.

Why are you thinking about seeing an escort? And why do you believe that seeing an escort might be something you would get arrested for?

I encountered something really strange the other day.  I heard that a "well-reviewed" provider (to use riker's words), was busted and inducted into a reverse-sting operation.

From what I gleaned, and in no way am I saying any of this even happened, that once this provider was arrested, her cooperation was given to LE for the purpose of using her contact info (website, cellphone, pager, email addy, etc) in order to set up appointments with potential "providees".  My understanding is that she actually cooperated to the point of talking to the "providees" and enticing them into making dates.  Hell, I'd probably fall for it, especially if I've spoken to or seen that provider before.

Anyway, to make a long story short, they used this girl to arrest the guys trying to see her when they came out for their sessions.  If it's true, what a scary thought.  I agree with riker that you have less of a chance of getting stung by utilizing the tools on TER, but of course it's in no way foolproof.  Be careful and use your head (not the little one!) out there, all.

and they are a little more than just rumors. LE reports in Florida that became part of several news articles included an outline of just that sort of thing. But it's rare, and if you're looking at very recent reviews from reviewers who have reviews that go back for some time, the chances of that are not full-proof, but reduced greatly.

If you're in SF, you can contact me and I'll tell you exactly who the stings are.

If subletly and discretion aren't working, can't you simply ask the provider if she is working for LE?  If she says no, and she's lying, and you get busted, isn't that entrapment?

Sorry it took so lng to get back to you. I actually could not find the message board again where I had posted this I was loking on general discussion.  I would like to see an escort for the same reason most men would. A chance to be with beautiful sexy woman with no strings attached. Why would I be afraid of being arrested? I know the ruse about no money for sex just for time and companionship nevertheless many or most people would consider the prostitution which is illegal.

There is a huge myth that LE must identify themselves if asked-it ain't true!

If a girl says "I'll suck you off for $$", you say yes, and she pulls out a badge, that's entrapment.

If you ask if she's LE, she says no, and you say "will you suck me off for $$?" then she arrests you, that's when you may want a lawyer.

Entrapment basically comes down to who suggests it.
