Maybe I'm just a worrier.

I'm new to the hobby.  I have used an agency a couple of times but never an independent.  After a lot of time searching, I found a local companion I wanted to see.  She has 5 pages of glowing reviews.  Her website says she requires a provider reference or work screen.  I e-mailed her and after some back and forth, set a date.

I asked her if she needed anything else from me an she said no.  No reference, no screen.

Is that odd?  Now I'm worried about walking into a sting.  I hope its nothing to worry about because I am really looking forward to seeing her.

This is a common mistake we ALL make after countless trouble free instances.

Did you speak with her on the phone? Often savvy providers can do a good job of judging whether you are LE just by subtle nuances in a phone conversation with a potential client.

 The chances she is being used as a decoy for a "sting" is remote. However; it would be time well spent on your part if you took a cursory spin around her incall location to see if there are any plain wrapped CVs (Crown Victorias) with a small "E" on the license plate parked near her pad. Vice stings usually entail several LE officers and multiple vehicles would be necessary.

Some providers use intuition among other skills to stay safe. The lady probaly got a good feeling about you from the tone of your email exchanges. There should not be any risk in seeing her, to help your nerves you should offer to have a drink with her in a public place like the hotel bar. But let her know well ahead of time about having the drink, she will have some nervous impulses about you that she will need to calm.

five pages of glowing reviews sounds fairly safe to me...

I tend to agree with the above post that this lady has a good feeling about you from the previous correspondence and will simply waive the reference requirement for you. Also realize this, I have been told by a couple of indy girls during our first meeting that they never even checked my reference(s), it's just something standard they ask for. Apparently, just the fact of having the reference (that could have been verified if she desired) and following their screening so quickly and easily gave them a good enough feeling about me to go ahead and schedule the requested date.

...it's just a woman's perogative in who she will and/or will not screen more thoroughly; don't try to insert your own logic into it
