Think of it as ordering food in a restaurant. If you ordered beef, but get bologna, send it back. If you ordered rare and comes out well done, send it back. If the food is rancid, or otherwise bad, definitely send it back--and complain to the health department!
But if you don't like the style of the plate it's served on, or if you'd prefer a different gaarnish, tough luck, you're stuck paying for it--but you still don't have to eat it.
I would like to know if it is acceptable to cancel a scheduled appt with a provider after meeting her. Say for example that you are not attracted to her or feel that she mis-represented herself in her ad. Also, are you expected to tip her even though no services were provided?
This was actually covered a couple weeks ago. Concensus is that if she has grossly misrepresented herself, ie: major weight change, not the woman in the picture, then you should cancel with no compensation.
However if it is just a chemistry thing and she has not grossly misrepresented herself, then you should offer a cancellation fee for her time. Not the full amount but some portion of it. She may want to negotiate the figure.
if she is mis-representing herself it needs to be mentioned here on the boards so someone else doesn't fall into the same situation. As for tipping, it's the nature of the business, It's a sales call, I make 20 calls per day and not everyone buys from me, should I be compensated for my time also? And what about your lost time? It's your call ... I don't think I would.
I can completely agree on a SERIOUS misrepresentation issue (I probably should have done so myself on an occasion or two), but I disagree on the rest. Her hair's a little shorter, or blonde instead of brown, I can't by that as a good enough reason (unless it was clear from prior discussion that long brown hair was very important). I know one Lady who was turned away because "you're weraring earings".
If you have her come out to you and then essentially change your mind, based on “chemistry” or something else, I certainly don’t see that as a “tip”. It’s much more like a cancellation fee. Again, there can be some serious exceptions here as well: open hostility, signs of mood altering chemicals, etc., but not for the normal type stuff. Just my oppinion. Too many Ladies get ripped often too much anyway.
I have never turned anyone away...I feel REALLY funny doing that. In retrospect, I should have changed my mind with a couple of people. I would have compensated them in some way for their time (after all it is valuable). Perhaps $50 if their fee was $200 to $300. IMHO.
