Inappropriate request for personal info by escort servicesregular_smile

Some of the escort services I've visited have asked that I provide my employer's name and phone number as a reference.  While I'm willing to be open and honest with an escort and I realize thay live is a risky world, I live in that same world and I'm NOT going to provide that information.  Are there any escorts out there who can provide me with some insight on this question?  Am I being unreasonable? Why?

I recommend using the keywords "references", "screening", "verification" and "newbie".

If you feel uncomfortable with what the ladies ask and do not want to provide that information, move on to someone else.  It is not unreasonable for you to not want to give it.  It is also not unreasonable or "inappropriate" for the lady to ask for it.  She is simply trying to help protect her own safety and freedom.

I agree completely with Sola.  You should not provide any info you're not comfortable with divulging.  Likewise, a provider should not see anybody who doesn’t provide enough info to make her feel safe and secure.

If you are making enquiries and you’re asked for personal information which you don’t want to share then move on.

Employment screening is very common.  Unless you're in a political position or famous, it's very unlikely to come back to haunt you.

Remember, the escort is commiting a more serious offense than you are.  LE is not going to "trade down" to catch you when they've got her.  Also, if she tried to blackmail you it is a much more serious offense than prostitution in most states.

Really, what she wants is some indication that you are who you say you are.  She wants to make sure you don't have a history of abusing escorts, or if the worst happens that there will be a nice lead for LE to run down and catch you.

If you're still uncomfortable with providing your work information, you could still contact the lady and mention that you don't want to provide work information and see if she offers an alternative.  If she says 'no' thank her for her time and move on.
