you do not know unles you go DATY and you see discharge or it has a strong 'fishy' order. Even still, that is not the best way to tell. Sometimes, a provider may elect to tell you. I doubt it, but they may. Your best bet if you do not want to put yourself at risk is to not use providers. However, I do not think that will be a realistic choice. I will tell you this, STD is invisible to the human eye. One must practice safe sex (it should truly be called 'reduced risk sex'), if they are going to see a provider. Notice things like bad breath, sores around the mouth (healed sores or redness). That could be a sign of a form of Herpies virus. Remember, streph can be spred by kissing.

Just remember to play it safe and see providers that appear to run a clean shop and will not agree to unprotected sex. Hope this helps. Take care...
