How can one tell if a review is genuine?

I've only been a member a few weeks, but already I sense that more than a few reviews are not from objective reviewers. Especially some for traveling providers. The Warning Signals seem to be 1) the reviewer has only one or two reviews in his record, and 2) if the reviewer has many reviews, almost all are very positive with high ratings.  Can the more experienced members out there provide other warning signs?

the skew to positive reviews isn't conclusive: ter subscribers will look for and use providers who have high reviews already, and if those reviews are accurate, and typical of the provider's work, then they will also give the provider a high review.

personally i put more weight in a review that has some circumstantial detail that rings true than a review that just says mr. happy put on his overcoat and took a walk in the rain and the provider got the big o on the very first daty.

Good question Hermes, I've been analyzing this abit. Go with the  total reveiws and take out the highest and lowest review and average them out. If its a new provider, with one or to reviews " good luck" caveat emptor to you buddy other wise common sense would dictate that a provider who often gets 6 or 7s from TER members will not all of a sudden get a 9 or 10 out of no where. So my suggestion is to ignore the highest and lowest reveiws but more importantly read the comments and juicy details to get more specific information on the provider as to what she does and doesnt do and determine if its important to you. Some TER members dont like DFK and that is not important while some think that its a must. You will decide.

I mean that in two ways, first, the obvious rating of a provider and how consistent are her rating. Second and more important how many reviews does she have.  If a provider has 50 reviews and they are all or mostly 8's & 9's then you have a winner and the reviewers are all experiencing the same level of service, there will always be some low numbers, you can't please everyone, though some seem to, Nicole/Nacole 106 reviews all from 7-10 most 8s & 9s(If you are in Atlanta check her out) or Shauna 55 reviews all 7-10 mostly 8,9,10, now I don't mean for this to sound like a plug for these to providers, my point is the reviews are consistent so you are probably not going to get a raw deal from either of these girls or the many like them. You have to look at the reviews and how many to evaluate the veracity of a review.  Rule of thumb, 3 review min. Also who are the reviewers, are they known and respected, do you recognize their handles. Private mail the reviewers and ask them questions. With all that info, it's pretty easy to tell the real reviews from the fake.

If you are doubting the legitimacy of a review, simply read other reviews that the reviewer has written on other providers.  If they are constantly rating every provider they've seen a 10, then chances are, the reviews aren't very reasonable.  If, however, they've given a fair number of mediocre reviews, and some hot ones, then you can bet that the reviewer is objective enough to make his review more reliable.  It all boils down to one point: good research leads to good results.

This is good advice MRPIMP. I'd like to add that TER members should get to know what the rating scale really means. For example, if you are looking for a provider that does BBBJ (blow job with no condom) then make sure the provider has reviews that are all at least 8's for performance or you will be disappointed.
