Look for references concerning agencies. Identify the ones hobbyists rate highly and give them a call. Get a VIP membership during the time you lurk, you can send hobbyists email to ask questions that will guide your choice.
The advantage of working for a well run agency is that you have the organizational work done for you and you can learn the ups and downs of the business. The downsides of agencies is that you would not completely control your escorting schedule and you have to share something like one half of what you earn from a call. But when all is said, working for an honest, well run agency is the way for a complete beginner to break into the business, sans an experienced friend to guide them.
