Free AntiVirus software

I thought I'd pass this link along. I haven't used this program but, apparently the website publishes updated virus definitions regularly (at least once a month). FYI, antivirus software is not very useful if you don't regularly update the virus definitions.

I recommend avast! antivirus from avast.com
It's free, scans e-mail, incoming data, etc; updates automatically, it's free... http://www.avast.com/

While I'm at it, I also recommend ZoneAlarm personal firewall from http://zonelabs.com/ It's also free for personal use.

Oh wait, there's also Ad-aware, freeware that seeks out and kills nasty spyware on your computer. This is available from http://www.lavasoft.de/

No, I am not an IT professional... strictly an amateur geek.

Been using AVG for about 4 months now...Excellent program that has caught several virii attached to p2p files I was downloading...very light footprint (does not use a lot of resources)...I can even leave it on while I game without any noticeable effect...
