Disease

I am new to the sport and would like to know if I could get some feed back on how safe it is with respect to contracting something.  I guess my main concern is orally transmitted problems.  Thank you all in advance for the input.

There are probaly some who would debate (probaly effectively) whether condoms are as effective as advertised in preventing disease.  But if you want to minimize your risk to the lowest level and stay in the hobby, you should use a condom for every intimate act and avoid kissing of any type (you can always pick up someone else's deposits if the provider is not careful).  Also avoid licking, or for that matter, touching intimate parts of the provider.  Some providers have themselves tested for STDs regularly, while that is not a 100% safe bet, it is probaly better than engaging someone you pick up on a street.  The best way to avoid disease is to not have sex with ANYONE (obviously, not my first choice) because nothing short of celibacy is even close to 100% - even when celibate, you could sit on a toilet seat, with an open sore on your fanny and pick up something left by a rabid reader of a mensmag.

You could follow Stilltryin's advice which is the only sure way, but personally I'd rather stay home and do it myself :) My pragamatic advice, for what it's worth is this. See reputable independents. Stay away from those who sound more risky in their reviews. Examples: Swallowers, rim jobs etc. If you like to kiss and daty as I do make sure she looks and smells as fresh a daisy. Independents will usually schedule their appts. far enough apart so they can shower and be fresh for you. A lot of agencies will stack appts., leaving little time for this. If you do use an agency try to be the first appt of the day. Always use listerine after every encounter. Carry a little bottle with you or keep it in your car. Also you should get vaccinated for hepatitis B. Just a parting word about what I said about staying away from those who sound more risky. I have partaken in those activities with ladies I trust. This is a YMMV situation though. They don't allow it with everyone and it's not in their reviews.

One more thing I do is drink plenty of water before a date. Yes you'll be peeing like a race horse but that's the whole idea, get your guy flushed out.
