I am not a nubie to this site, however I was wondering what the red names and dates mean on the discussion boards??
Thanks:  Slow

I am the host of this forum.  As far as the dates go, I have no idea.  I'm sure if you search for it, you might find the answer.

As swim said his name is in red because he's the "host" (not a moderator) of the newbie board. If he posts elsewhere it doesn't show in red. The moderators names used to show in red when they posted on the board they moderated but there are no moderators now.

The dates and times in red are for the moderators. A post first goes up and the dates/times are black. After some time (24/48 hours?) they change to red. After some time (24/48 hours?) the go back to black. This was so moderators could see how old posts were and what needed checking. It helped them keep up with what they had to do.

Since the former moderator system has been done away with this may no longer be of use but I imagine it still serves this purpose for the present TER staff members that moderate the boards.

Disclaimer: I didn't go into details this is simply the gist of why you see the dates and times change from black to red and back again.

Do a search on this board or others a. There are discussions where a former mod posted the precise answer to this question.
