I am somewhat new to the hobby.  I do have one concern, STDs. Does TER track providers that may have them or would that be too hard / and suffer wrath from the providers?

I am married with 2 kids and one on the way.  I like the hobby when my wife is pregnant but do not want to bring something home.

I see a lot of DATY and BBBJ, are these truely safe?  Are classier providers (i.e. better hotels/apartments, more expensive, older) a better gamble because they are more mature or higher risk becuase they have been providing longer.

I know the TER Providers are a world apart from 5th street, but this is still a concern.

Any and all information on the subject would be appriciated.

I recommend reading "The Polar Bear Strategy: Reflections on Risk in Modern Life", by John F. Ross, Perseus Books, 1999.

You can die in an auto accident on your way to see a provider. (I know of one instance where this actually happened since I have been reading these boards.)

There is only one way to be completely sure you won't get a STD and that is to be completely celibate.

However, you can have sex with no risk of getting a STD. If your partner isn't infected with anything you aren't going to be infected with anything. Picking an uninfected partner is the key to safe sex.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to be absolutely sure that your partner is uninfected so sex (other than masturbation) always involves risk. There is a very funny short story (sorry, I don't remember the title -- I think the author was T. Coraghessan Boyle) about a guy whose girlfriend refused to have sex with him until he got outfitted with a full-body condom.

A full body condom would probably be pretty safe. Regular condoms make for safer sex. They do not make for safe sex.

Of course condom usage- and remember that "skin to skin" contact is all it takes...

Maybe you might try a sensual massage, instead of the full experience

Use the TER reviews to select a provider who you feel safe with.  A lot of providers do not offer BBBJ, DATY or touching in sacred places.  You can find who you want and verify with the person before if you do homework.  In a nutshell, there are providers out there who are ultra safe, just look into enough reviews and you will find several who interest you.  By the way, I admire your determination to protect your wife's health.

You can get a STD from DATY and a BJ.

It's too bad that there is so much pressure on a lot of ladies to perform uncovered!!  Of course it's a better experience for you clients, but I've never done anything without a cover, simply because I value my health, as well as that of all FUTURE clients and any possible SO's, mine or theirs.
Of course no sex is 100% safe, but chances are if you have a specific agenda regarding safety, your provider (if she is worth what she charges) will either insist upon it or concede to your wishes if you request a cover.  Most of us bring them along, but just in case, bring your own too.
I wish I had more clients like you... :)

great learning material Ladysterling. I have the same concerncs as the original poster and wondered if you insist on coverage, but the reviews show the provider is on again off again I suspect you still are somewhat exposed re: it only takes skin contact unless you select a provider who always covers.
