I'm in a bit of a unique situation.  I'm new to the hobby and don't have any references.  From the providers I've contacted they want to verify me by calling me at work, but I work for a very small company where I answer my own line and we don't have a central switchboard of some kind, which they seem to require.  I also don't have a listed landline at home or work.  Can anyone offer some advice on how I should go about making it easier to screen me?

The short answer for most is joining a screeing service like RoomService or similar outfit.

Once you join P411, you will be able to see someone without any reference. From there, you can build your references. P411 can verify self employed so they should be able to verify you.
