After having 2 daughters abuse the Cell phone thing and my general manager thinking my cell was his personal bat phone.  I have pretty much given up on having one.  

Is it impossible to set up appointments without one?  Im assuming this 2 call system would be impossible without one. I have thought about setting up an appointment farther in advance and telling my situation.  Any thoughts?

keep a few  quarters on you and use the payphone and explain your situation. I droped my phone in the toilet a day before I was supposed to see a provider and told her my situation and she said that she would answer the blocked payphone number if I called at our schedualed time. It can be done but its just difficult

Get a throw away prepaid like TracFone That way you control the minutes. Some providers will not see someone with out a cell

Do not give this phone number to family and the boss... just use it for hobbying.

Not only will it be inexpensive, and not only for the 2-call purposes... but what if the lady needs to cancel and has no way to reach you?  What if you need to get ahold of her when your car gets a flat?  Etc.

but where do you hide the phone from the family or explain why they cannot have the number?

Great advice that I've used for a couple of years.  Inexpensive way to not have a paper trail where someone else can see who you may have called, etc.

Hide it in your glove compartment.  Shared car?  Office desk.  Tool box.  Who cares?  You don't need to have easy and ready access to this phone... nor does anyone else.

Other than hiding it in my pants pocket, those ideas sound pretty good, but to a hobbyist with a spouse who might be a little suspicious, he might care to be a little more careful.

instead of coins, you can easily buy a phone card.
Having a phone card, saved me from a psycho girl years ago from extortions attempts she did on other friends.
As other said, you get a cheap disposable cell phone since most girls won't answer blocked calls and you'll need a cell phone to call and receive calls.
You're going to be very limited if you don't have a cell phone.
If you hobby, a cell phone is a requirement with almost 99% of all the girls.

IF your S.O. discovers a cell phone in your car, briefcase or where ever, you can say lots of excuses.

You found it in the parking lot and got a call from the owner's friend and are going to meet them tomorrow to give it back to them.

You think this phone is your co-workers since you found it near their parking space and are holding it for them while they are out of town.

You found this phone, it has lots of minutes and are using it to call people since it's free.

You bought this phone from some guy for $10...

use your imagination for an excuse why you have this cell phone.
If you can't think of any good excuses,

trade in and get a new brain....
