This is just a suggestion.

The people asking these questions are of course newbies - that's
what this board is for - so I think it would do them a world of
good to look at that thread.  There is so much info there and
they obviously haven't looked at it if they are asking an
abbreviation question.

I think it would just cut down on board clutter and the referral
would encourage other readers to do the same.
