real name given for reference

Sorry, another reference question that I couldn't find the answer to. I am sure there are many self employed professional who do this but, once I give out my name for reference check all they have to do is google it and my name will come up with my office website and other references to my name.  Is it inevitable that info is available to the provider?
With this much info out there on me is something like P411 necessary?
Appreciate any answers from any single docs out there.

that P411 would help you out a lot because once you see P411 providers they will okay you.
That way when you are interested in contacting a provider send a request via P411 and she can see your references on your P411 profile. It saves time you will not have to send references anymore.
However keep in mind some providers will still ask for additional info even if you are a P411 member with okays and some providers will not ask for any other info.Every provider is different so it just depends on the provider you are interested in seeing what her requirements are.It certainly cannot hurt to sign-up for P411.
Good luck to you!

you will have to give out this info over and over, until you have gotten some providers to reference you.  By joining a verification site, such as P411, you only have to give it out once.  Much less invasive, I would think.  I get the impression you are a physician, which I am not, but I agree that joining the verification site is preferable to having providers google you and finding out all your personal/professional info.

I concur, very worthwhile for relatively easy and trouble free screening, especially after you get your first few provider OKs on P411.

...status in society by virtue of your profession.  You should not jeopardize this status.  If you don't give your real name, providers can still verify you through P411.

Except that if are requesting a outcall to a hotel, and especially to a private residence, there is a good chance the provider will ask your first and last name. There are some safety reasons on her part for doing this and is not for the purpose of wrong-doing - if she is a reputable provider. Sticking with incalls might be a good choice.
just my 2 cents :)

Sam,
What do you mean "Did NOT pay yet?"   You do not PAY until the door is locked behind you and you are alone.  If the web site requires Payment, it's a scam.  Your money will be gone.  You almost certainly will never see "her"...  if she is even the girl in the pictures.  your CC info may likely be stolen.
It sounds like you need to start by reading the TER self help section (by the life saver) & then read back on these boards.  Then use the reviews to find providers in your area.  You WILL need VIP to complete the research by reading the full reviews.
Is she well reviewed?  Any TER reviews?  Are the picts real?  Does she deliver as promised?

Before you go in her door you shuld be sure ofthis or you'll be posting a rip off review the next thing.  We were all newbies once...  WE've been scammed.  we're trying to keep you from doing that.

Since he was replying to swim's post, recommending he join P411, I have to assume he was talking about the P411 form when he said he started filling out the form but didn't pay.

If he was talking about a form on a provider's site or something, I totally agree with you. But if he is joining P411, he has to pay first, to get verified. And in the context of this thread, that is probably what he was referring to.

I would say that when you are self -employed giving out the real name is less dangerous than than if you work for an organization.  If you are your own boss, there is really limited risk of job loss.  If a provider ever got silly you simply dismiss them as a crazy client/customer who fell in love with you.  In this day and age, if you are self-employed and have a web presence you get many strange e-mails even if you are not in this game.   Self-employment has advantages and one of them is that you can hobby with less to worry about.
