So how do you get a date if you have no references to provide?

He asked basically the same question and there are lots of answers right there in that thread. Also read the Self help center, (found at the top of the page) and read back a bunch of pages here. You will see a lot of the same questions (including this one) come up over and over.

In a nutshell your answers are:
Join p411 (or one of the other verification sites) and look for newbie friendly providers.
and/or
Be willing to give up some personal information such as real name and work info.
Or
See providers who dont screen (Not the preferred option! This could get you in trouble)

Definitley get VIP here if you dont already have it so that you can do proper research.
