Best ways to receive reviews as a newbie ?

Curious to know if my fellow providers and reviewers have any helpful tips to give a newbie on this site. I'm a Los Angeles provider I can only image how busy it can be here I want in on the action lol feel free to msg me

Start posting

on the photo only board, your local regional ad board, your local regional board. In other words, get your name out there. At the end of a date, ask your client if if is a member of TER. If he is, ask if he would give you a review. If he isn't, tell him about the site, and that he will get 15 free VIP days for each review he posts.

Don't mention a discount for reviews in a TER ad, that is frowned upon by admin, but when setting up a date you could mention that a review would be worth a favor.....if you catch my drift.

you reply to a post (just not starting a thread) you can add the link to your website at the bottom of the post.

Read your local regional board and post when you have something to contribute; don't forget to add a link to your website. Guys need to get to know you.

Post your one ad every 7 days on your regional ad board to help spark interest. Guys are visual so be sure to include a pic. When posting an ad, you can put the link to your website.

...my advice she had already started the thread, obviously. Once my reply was there, she could post a link in response. Which is what I was implicitly inviting her to do.

If you can't figure that out, you shouldn't be giving advice to me.

Actually, if you are going to give advice here, you should take the time to be thorough

It would have only taken you another few seconds to tell her that posting a link on her OP would be considered an ad and would be deleted, but that it would be ok to make another post in this thread, adding her link for us to see.

You might know this, and BPS and I most definitely know this, but many/most of the newbies asking questions here do not know these things. On a board for newbies, your advice should not be "implicit" it should be specific and unambiguous.

No need to get snippy, Remember where we are. This is the Newbie board and we should try to be as helpful as possible, there is nothing worse here than giving counterproductive advice. Right behind that is giving advice that could easily be misconstrued.

Not that you'd have any reason to know, but

I PM'd the OP and told her she can only post links in reply to other posts. I could have said that here, as well, but I only went through the trouble of posting so that she could have something to reply to, because there weren't any replies before mine. I wasn't thinking of possible bystanders that might get the wrong idea.

There isn't any reason to be snippy, I guess, except that I was rubbed the wrong way above.
