So I moved to a new city a few states away. I'm wondering if when I call a provider they see a different area code and that makes them hesitant to answer. Most of the time it's no problem, but there are some lady's that I have trouble getting a response from. I'm wondering if thats why. What do you think?
My guess is the area code doesn't have a lot to do with it. The explosion of cell phone use in the business means your area code has littel connection to where you actually are or live any more. I still have an active cell from 2 moves ago.
Some providers might think a long distance AC is more likely to be a spam caller, but others actually prefer traveling guys. Less drama and smaller LE chance.
If you're having some who don't get back to you I doubt it's the AC for most of them.

I'm more apt to trust an out of state area code for the reason Alfred said: Smaller chance that it's LE. However, that doesn't mean I don't listen to my instincts when I'm listening to your voice.
I live in NYC..50% of my calls are from out of state area codes..Alot of travelers..usually business men, or as of late, alot of travelers here for the tennis open. I feel the same as far as LE goes, but I agree on the "always on point" comment made above..
I have guys that have an NY number because they are born & bred in NY and moved to the DC area and never changed their number etc or they are visitng from out of town and so one. I can only think that they might be hesitant of a far out of town number is they might think the guy calling is using Skype or Google or it's a throwaway/burner phone and feel safer if they feel the guy is calling from a more legit number instead of trying to be deceptive. I've had a few call me from either and just so happens those were times when I missed those calls and call them back 5 mins later and it's disconnected or get some weird message or something like that.
