i live in Miami, but I heard for this type of industry San Francisco or NYC might be a better market? I am planning on going independent. BUt want to be able to work mostly locally.
any suggestions?

things are much more expensive and proportionately so.

It can cost a small fortune to live here. You also have to consider the climate shock of moving from Miami to San Francisco. There is actually a plaque on the Golden Gate Bridge, with a quote from Mark Twain..."The coldest winter I ever spent was one summer in San Francisco".

Money should not be the only reason you relocate. Example of other reasons would be cost of living, and availability of housing in good, safe areas. You may move to an area where you make more money, but find out later that you don't like the area, or are just not comfortable there. I would suggest posting on some of the regional boards and getting a feel from providers who have lived in that area for a while.

If you have reviews [at least three], ask TER for access into the Providers Only forum.  There, you can ask [the girls] about different areas that you might be interested in.

Good luck!
Jaydenn-

You need to spend some time on the Newbie, and provider boards. THE GD board is NOT for local questions, newbie questions, or questions best served by providers only.

If you have to ASK if you should move to NY as a provider-- the answer is clearly-- NO !!!  :-X

You are right! Thanks for the suggestion. I will :)

As long as you understand, that there are different costs of living. Even within a few miles of a Metro. area.
If you are seriously considering this, but, still on the fence. Maybe, you can just make a trip/tour. That way you can get a feel of the area, and if you like it.
Just my .02.
Best of luck to you.

prices are falling fast for a lot of things...

Office rents, salaries, hotel rooms, apartments, and so on...

Not sure if the provider rates this week will be the same or lower next week...

Not a reflection on the ladies, just the market in NYC.

There are thousands of ladies living there and working, and touring there-
