I almost asked the girl I saw yesterday. My concern was, as you mention in your first sentence, she looked a little young. She said she was 20. I'm 53, so 20 is looking really young these days.
But I realized right away you don't go asking a girl for her ID, her real name, or basically, anything personal at all. You have to respect that. They're doing something pretty intimate, and they have to maintain that professional emotional distance.
My solution was to just have a little lie-down and chat for a while and get to know each other before we started knocking boots. I didn't ask any personal questions, but she volunteered enough for me to be sure she wasn't underage and that she was pretty experienced. She mentioned having a little girl and, sure enough, there were the stretch marks to prove it.
A few minutes of conversation are a great way to get over your own nervousness and put your provider at ease. Asking for a photo ID is a great way to do the opposite.
I just joined this medium recently and have never
been with an escort before. So, I called one of the providers because she was reasonably well-reviewed on TER. At first, our discussion on the phone went smoothly. I offered to show my picture ID on arrival. Fine. The roadblock was hit when I said that I want to see *her* photo ID, as well, as a prerequisite for our meeting. She started telling me this would invade her privacy and that she's got repeated clients and they never asked for this, ever. I really saw this as a red flag. It's a shady world. They worry about their safety -- great -- so why shouldn't I worry about mine? I am an honest individual and expect the same in return.
So, my question is: am I being unreasonable? Asking a prov for her picture ID is really that unheard of? Is it somehow inappropriate? Against the etiquette?
Thanks everyone.
Unless you are worried that she is underaged there is no reason to ask for such personal information from her. You say she is reviewed, you have some assurance that her intentions are good, and recourse via her reputation if something goes wrong. She simply wants the same from you.
She has to worry about being robbed, roughed up or killed. What are your fears?

Her pictures on her web site or ad, should be enough insurance that you are seeing the woman you made arrangements with. Providers guard their real name and address to keep stalkers away. Many providers have horror stories about clients who became stalkers. In all my years of hobbying I have never asked a provider for her id. I'm surprised she just didn't hang up after you asked that you wanted to see her photo id. If you plan on hobbying, you will need to drop this line of questioning. If she is reviewed on TER than pm one of her reviewers to gain more insight. Good luck and only see escorts who are well reviewed on TER
...Against the etiquette - yes. It just isn't done. If she's well-reviewed on TER, then she is safe. The longer you are on TER, the more you will come to realize that.
Providers don't use their real names for a reason - they want to protect their privacy. I wouldn't show a complete stranger my I.D.; why should she?
she is a lady. You can physically overpower her at anytime; she has a right to feel safe--why ladies screen.
Way unreasonable request! You hobby future will be short-lived.
That's ridiculous, you have no right to know her real name.
You mean she did not hang up on you immediately after such request?

That's a sure way to NOT get an appt. I would never see someone that said that to me. Red flag to me for either LE or potiential stalker. If you said that to an agency, more then likely you'll be blacklisted for something like that.
as stated above,
her website and pics and reviews are her identification of who she is as a provider.
You are NOT seeing the real gal, only who she is in those pictures.
Its NONE of your business what her real name is and where she live.
On the other hand, YES you need to do what ever it takes to make her feel comfortable and if seeing your ID since
1.you have NO history here
2.really you are lucky she's seeing you at all at this point its a leap of faith on her part.
If 1. and 2. aren't enough for you hows this answer...
Life isn't fair! Play by the rules of the game...her rules that is...OR take your balls and go home.
Asking for my photo ID = STALKER!
