I am concerned about the reference. I had a dispute over a review I gave to one of the reference providers, which has since been resolved. She may have contacted reference provider during the dispute and got a bad reference. I have other good references and will not use the questionable reference again.
What can one assume when I provider does not return email after initial contact and exchange of references and personal information? I was trying to set up with a new to me provider and all communication ceased after an initial response. I've sent two follow up emails with no result. Should I just give up and move to the next on my list?
...But also ask yourself what the problem might have been. Maybe it was just a lack of availability on her part or maybe there was something about your information or references that set off a red flag. Do the gals that you are using for references know to expect to be contacted?
We would all like to think that we are memorable but the fact is that if you haven't seen a lady in a while she may not remember you by name when another provider calls looking for a reference.
In any event, I would move on, better luck with the next lady!

don't be surprised if you hear back, and if so, don't lash out...
I had a 7 day lapse before I heard back from a lady, and when we finally did make the connection...
OH BOY!!!
She was out of US. My point is that with email, we all become too impatient. My second point... my ISP, a mjot telco, was down for over 24 hours today. Stuff happens. Computers go wonky too.
Oh and I forgot raise a family. Many ladies have so much on their plate and doing e-mail sometimes can be a challenge. Most ladies have many obligations and sometimes e-mails are the hardest to keep track of.
Some ladies want an e-mail and a phone call. I am one of those ladies. Go ahead and send your info and then call if there is a listed number and leave a message to introduce yourself and mention your e-mail. Now, don't forget to look for a calender on her site as she might be out of town.
If a provider does not have time to treat people with courtesy and respect, she needs to get out of the business, period! I know that sounds rude, but I cannot think of a better way of saying it. Anyone deserves at least an email back saying 'Thanks, but no thanks'. Just my .02 cents.
