I'm VIP but have discovered my area has few providers that have reviews and the one I would like to contact has (retired) in her name.
I followed one link to her Backpage ad and was amazed at the long list of local providers listed there. Lots of 'em!

Sadly, none of the 15 i checked at random had reviews on TER.

So, my options are limited and I also don't want to wander into a minefield by dealing with something that experienced hobbyists have learned to avoid.  

Backpage and other lists seem to have lots of local providers.  But I would like my first hobby experience to not be a complete bust.

I know for myself, it is a catch 22 for all involved. I don't have a TER review so nobody will see me. If nobody will see me then how will I ever get a review? I'm sure you will know the feeling when you try to see somebody and they want a reference. Well how will you get a ref. if nobody will see you.

You could google their phone numbers. If they have reviews on other sited that info may come up.

It's not where you find the escort (bp, eros, cv, etc) it's what you do after you find them.
You have VIP, so as long as you check for reviews you're fine. Every once in ahwile you will find a well reviewed escort on bp, remember everyone has to start somewhere. Just be sure you continue to check for reviews and don't start thinking with the little head. Have patience, and eventually you will find a well reviewed escort. Good luck!

Since you have VIP and this is your first then I suggest going the opposite route. Rather than searching other sites then looking for a review - search the reviews! The TER search engine lets you put in a whole bunch of parameters to specify what you're looking for such as your location, ratings for looks and performance, appearance, age, body features etc etc. That's what I prefer to do and have had some awesome sessions so far as a result!

I am in the Baton Rouge area. Lots of people here; a big University but not too many providers I can see.  I may try that google phone number thing. thanks JustJami      

Thanks David8. That makes sense, that a free posting site would be full of scams and other unsavory things as well as valid providers.   I will use your advice; get a lead then verify, verify, verify.

I've waited 50+ years, a few more weeks won't kill me.  My goal is just to get a handjob or blowjob before my 70th birthday in Nov so there should be enough time time.   I'm old but not stupid

The same can be said about Eros, CL, TER, Indys...and any other hobby related site.  

There are ladies here who have pages and pages of shitty reviews.....yet they continue to work. Where a lady advertises mean NOTHING. I am very reputable well reviewed and my screening is very thorough. I do my job, I enjoy my guest and my reviews clearly reflect that...

As long as hobbyist do not do their research, are afraid to post a candid review, and assume only scammers post ads on Backpage....scammers will continue to play games on any site they can gain access to.

and btw many ladies have backpage and city vibe ads forced on their TER profile.
