Parking at an upscale hotel vs. UBER (incall)

Folks,
The hobby life has been going great, however I'm looking for ideas to improve the parking aspect, especially at paid ones.  Occasionally, the destination will have free parking.  No issues there.  But from time to time, the incall is at an upscale hotel.  This is where I've encountered some ...awkwardness :).

a) I was once at the exit gate, and the only way to leave is to pay $19 cash!  Thankfully, I had a 20 on me.  But not before the truck behind me started honking because I was fiddling around trying to get my change back (never did).
b) Another time, the exit gate wouldn't open - no place to pay - had to press the buzzer - they waived me through for free (still confused - big fat sign showed $29).

All in all, just minor inconveniences.  But they go against my rule #1 - DON'T DRAW ATTENTION.  BE UNNOTICEABLE.

So, I was thinking perhaps an alternative would be UBER?  (hobby in Chicago).
I've used uberEATS, but never actually sat inside an UBER.  I understand they're a chatty bunch.  If the question does come up - "Going to a work conference" - is the least attention-drawing thing I can think of.  If anyone can offer better alibis, please do :)
The other downside to UBER is I have to take it twice - doubling the chances for inquisitive questions.

Thus, I'm debating if it's best to park at upscale hotel vs park elsewhere and walk (not always possible?) vs UBER.

There are apps for finding parking spaces. (Search "parking space locator" in your app store.) Some are city specific and some are linked to paid parking garages. In NYC, Spot Hero is kind of popular. You can prepay and reserve a space at a discount. Ask on the Chicago board what works there.  Park a few blocks away and walk 5 minutes.
.
Chatty drivers? Depends on your clothing and time of day. Business dress: "Do you mind. I'm making an important pitch and I'm going over it in my head." Casual: "Do you mind. I'm pitching my new casual clothing line to some investors and I'm going over it in my head." Anything: "Do you mind. I have a major headache and I just need some peace and quiet." Anything: So what are you doing at the hotel today? Counterattack. "Is this the hotel with the Picassos in the lobby?"  Huh? What? Picassos? I dunno. I think I'll just shut up and drive. (Or substitute "live elephant" or "Lamborghini on display" or "The Bodies exhibit in the lobby" or something else to throw him off and shut him up.)

...Tell the Uber driver that you're going to fuck a hooker.  That should shut him up.  What's he gonna do - call the cops?

You know that is exactly something I would do on my way to a session. I am much too lazy to lie to people who I don't give two shits about to begin with.

Why people really care about what complete strangers think about them is really beyond me. I have started many a conversation with "I was with this hookers one day" and you'd be amazed what a great conversation starter it is. If the person turns his/her nose up at the very suggestion, that person is too uptight to talk to in the first place. lol

If somebody asks me something I don't want to answer (no I don't tell them to mind their own business) I just say something like, "Oh, nothing."  That really gives them nowhere to go with the next question.

Why not just getting a taxi and pay cash? Uber you have to link your card.

Think about this.  Before you knew about this hobby you have parked at hotels many times.  It is not a crime to park at a hotel and go in for a drink, a bite to eat or visit someone who is staying there.  We can be our own worst enemies.

Only the paying, or being paid part is illegal, and unless one of the two of you are cops, who the fuck is ever going to know?

Yes, people get WAY too fucking paranoid, and all this "cloak and dagger" stuff is laughable at best and downright pathetic at worst.

Agree with Ape and GaG. With some minor exceptions. From the LE perspective, in some jurisdictions, they can seize your vehicle if you were using it in this business. So park elsewhere and leave the claim ticket in the car and don't forget the space. If you made sensible choices, that is not going to be an issue at all, so just park at the hotel.
.
If you are in the middle of a divorce, running for office, are a corporate officer in the middle of some big business deal, you might want to throw off anyone following you or that might coincidentally take notice of you at the hotel. Come to think of it, parking IN the hotel and going straight up to the floor is less noticeable than strolling thru the lobby where you'll bump into lots of people.
.
I did say MINOR exceptions, but I guess I meant UNLIKELY exceptions.

In a similar vein, some will caution you not to use your cell phone in the hotel lobby. The only people making calls from the lobby are johns or hookers asking for the room number.  Gee, I didn't realize that all those 12 year old kids and grannies are in the biz, too!

There is so much going on in major hotels that you stand out by trying not to stand out. Just be relaxed and normal.
.
On a serious note: Do NOT bring flowers. Bring wine or other small items in a regular bag. You are allowed to bring wine or candy or sushi into a hotel.

Good luck! Have fun!
