Quote, Reply, Edit Message

I just submitted two posts as replies to existing threads. They were both still "New" in my "My Message Boards" list. I wanted to edit one with more info (Newbie board). When I clicked on it, all it had was a "Quote" and "Reply" buttons, no "Edit Message" button. The other post (also still "New" but not the one I wanted to edit, New York board), had all three buttons.

Anybody know what gives?  What happened to "Edit Message"?

I guess I'm just going to have to reply to my own post to add the info, but it would have been easier to get it done NOW.

Never heard of that happening.  Only thing I know about the edit button, I think it is that it is only available for a short while after you post the message.  Why it would be there for one post and not the other, I do not know.

You can't normally edit aliased posts.

Nope. They were both with my real fake name, not an alias. I submitted the NY post first and the Newbie maybe 5-10 minutes later. The NY (older) post still had the Edit Message button; the Newbie post did not.

I further notice that just reading the boards, some posts appear with the "Quote" button only and some have both the "Quote" and "Reply" buttons. Something weird is definitely going on.

I'm sure the Edit button on our posts is fully automated, unlike those on new and unapproved reviews, so it must have been some kind of software bug.

Last week there was a temporary problem with the links to members' review history when you clicked on their name. In Classic, however, it functioned properly. Classic seems more stable.
