I am a newbie to the hobby and I was wondering if any of you fellow hobbyists have used any of the ads in magazines like Nightmoves or V2 to contact providers.  Most of the ones in my local edition of the mags are not reviewed on TER.

You're better off getting yourself a VIP membership and doing some homework on the reviewed ladies on here.You're already willing to invest $200 or more on a girl.Spend a few more bills for the membership.You'll get the piece of mind of knowing you'll be getting what you're looking and paying for.

Attempt to visit un-reviewed ladies AT YOUR OWN RISK!  Better, buy a VIP membership and read the reviews; don't just look at the pics.
