Gotta couple of questions for both providers and hobbyists.  Is there a "best" way to get verified by providers who require some sort of background info on a potential client?  I realize there are multiple services that provide verification and providers themselves will do the verification.  Sometimes verification happens long before a date while at other times the provider "verifies" on the spot via just looking at an identification (i.e. Driver's License).  Still others will ask for references.  Here's my problem.  I only hobby several times per year and in various cities when out of town.  The providers I have been with most likely aren't good references because it has usually been months between dates; therefore, if I use them for a reference, they most likely don't remember me.  So using references is not likley to work for me.  As for other types of verification, I am unwilling to have someone call my home or my work.  I have to protect myself as well from what might be questionable calls.  I understand completely when a provider requires verification.  Is there any method that protects both the provider and myself?  Otherwise, I tend to stay away from providers who require verification which is a bad thing because I really would be interested in seeing them.  Thanks for any and all honest input.
