Fyi , I posted a post inquiring others thoughts on deposits couple weeks ago ! Seem like it was pretty equally divided among providers having no problem with it and a few of our seasoned veterans saying no way ! My date for that evening did show up , really happy with the evening , dinner/desert type of date that met all expectations and actually exceeded in some ! So again , if a provider can show she has some legitimacy , ie some reviews , PM a couple of her clients i just don't see a problem ! Its not like i was seeing someone from backpage , she had a few reviews , all great and truthfully YOU WANNA PLAY THE GAME , STEP UP TO THE PLATE GUYS ! Just my thoughts ...

Glad you didn't get ripped off.  I've been doing this for over 20 years and I've never been ripped-off either.  I've also never had to give any escort a deposit.

For the rest of you newbies: paying anything in advance in this business is a very risky business. Don't pay anything in advance that you cannot afford to lose, and don't come crying to this board if you pay a deposit and don't get what you want, because the overwhelming preponderance of advice from hobbyists here is "don't pay in advance".

You wanna play the game? You don't have to pay in advance to do so.

not ALL providers are out to rip you off. If that were the case, we would not bother putting so much time and money into photos, websites, and advertising. We would run one BP ad under one name in x city, rip em off, then move on to the next.

I will agree with Clarence that sending just money upfront is not a good idea for Newbies, but this was a DEPOSIT for her time that HE wanted to book. Guys who don't want to send a deposit, no problem. Book less than 4 hours!  Problem solved. Not many providers are going to be stupid enough to book with a total newbie for 4 plus hours, based on faith. Sorry, not happening. It's not about "trust" but about shit happening, and not many guys will cover your expenses when "shit" does happen, like we are always having to take a loss on!  He can choose to see a provider for a shorter duration, which is usually good advice anyway, because chemistry is a bitch at times.

Dude , Chill!! Just telling you my experience , don't take it personal ! I'm sure there are ample reasons to feel that way , i was careful, there are lots of reputable providers both in arizona and other states ! Yes be careful but to cast a whole blanket on all is just wrong to me !

But as many others have commented...and I completely concur with them..it's NOT a practice that anyone...ESPECIALLY A NEWBIE should be doing.

This could just as easily been another one of the thousands of woes me she was an NCNS story.

So if that's how you want to play this game...go for it.  There's a reason why those of us who have been at this a LOOOONNNNGGGG time have never had to tell that story.

And just FYI...Of course the hookers want to get paid in advance.  Who doesn't want that?

Someone did not do much research before booking that one. She is blacklisted all over the damn place..duh!

FYI, I have never required a deposit when I was already booked to tour a city..I simply cancel the damn trip if I don't get enough bookings.  Too bad so sad...had they paid a deposit, I would not have had to cancel though ha ha. For Exclusive Travel, that's another story, but guys shucking out 5k don't exactly blink over a few hundred bucks.

On this guys original thread, many guys posted saying "never pay in advance" and many ladies posted saying "oh, I take deposits and I would never rip anyone off" - or words to that effect.

First of all, there are many honest and honorable ladies in this business who would never rip anyone off, and in the unlikely event that she had to cancel a date that was already paid, partially or in full, she would bust a gut making it right for him.

There are also many honest and honorable men in this business who would not renege on a date they had booked and leave a lady high and dry.

Then there are a whole bunch of people in the middle.

I would venture that all, or most of the ladies who posted on that first thread probably fall into the first category. But you all MUST be aware that there are other ladies in this business who are less than honest? And not all of them are lurking on backpage with fake pics and pimps. Some of them actually have reviews and reputations. The porn star board is full of stories about well known and established girls pulling ncns and not giving refunds.

If I were looking to book an extended appointment with you Julia, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to send you a deposit, or payment in full for that matter. Ditto London, and many other women that I see around these boards. But I'll say it one more time: this is the Newbie Board, and telling a newbie to pay advance deposits is bad advice. Are you going to offer to give him his money back when he gets screwed by a lady with fewer scruples than you have?

And for the extended type of date you planned it makes some sense...  after you have throughly researched the Provider.   As a general rule, NO deposits.  BUT everyone agrees there are exceptions.  It is unusualy for a Newbie to book extended dates as you have.
