Hi all, I would first like to introduce myself.  I am Shana, a new provider in the DC metro area.
I would like advice on how to screen potential gentlemen.  I have been doing as much screening as I can (and know how) up until this point and knock on wood I have been very lucky so far!
However, I really want to make sure that I take ALL of best procedures for screening.
Since I am new, I have not been able to get verified by Date-Check.  However, hopefully I will soon since I have 2 new reviews posted here (thanks guys )
So Ive been checking other provider references and trying to get as much personal information I can.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. (I was actually looking for the thread about someone who would "offer a tutorial on screening" and I would love to take that person up on it!)

Welcome, just a quick note:

Some providers don't return calls or e-mails. I've been lucky that most I've contacted will return your request for a verification, so that's one way to verify. Also, make sure the gentleman you are verifying notifies the provider that you will be calling her for a reference, especially if it's been a while since he's seen her.

Also, work verifications always work awesome for me. However, some gentlemen are nervous of someone calling their place of employment.

Your next choice is to allow members who are verified by verification sites. These sites basically do the sleuth work by obtaining the information pertinent to your safe meeting with the gentleman.

I'm basically starting out myself, so I completely understand your position, I think you'll be just fine. ^_^ The people are really nice on this board, so anyone can point you in the right direction.

The only thing i can suggest because i do this all the time, i need to see previous providers and their websites..IMPORTANT!  i don't see "newbies" alot of providers do but i don't just personal choice, but i always get previous providers and 99% of them are fast with a reply and very provider friendly..
I don't care if it's 2am and another provider needs to know about a client i've seen, i'm there to help because safety comes first all the time as far as i'm concerned!

Also best thing to do is get on the DZ site and Date check this will make things easier for you to learn, then just what you pick up here.

One more question, Ive seen a few provider websites that require one of the main screening methods (date-check/provider references etc)
OR their full name /address/dob.
What good would that be on its own?  (maybe im missing something just checking) unless they had some other method of verification by using this info.

HI Shana,

Unfortunately we conduct a high risk business. Verifications aren't an absolute, but they decrease the probability of anything distastful, to say the least, happening. Always just get as much information as you can that is reasonable to the potential client and safe for you. And you are what always counts, your safety, period. No one likes to have their information out, so having the verification sites and screening process is always a better option than the alternative.

Remember: nothing is an absolute in this business. Just do what you can to play every level of this field safely.
