Hello TER friends,

I am finding it difficult to understand how this site works.  I'm a pretty smart cookie, I build web-sites and do lots of relatively techy things.  But this site eludes me and I seem to keep going in circles.

So, what I am hoping for is a direct understanding of a couple of how to's.
The site continually refers to the directory and how to list myself in it.  Yet, I cannot find the directory.  Please advise.
Do I need provider status?  Do I pay for that?  How do I pay for that?
How do I update outdated information on older reviews?
If someone posts my phone number in a review, may I get that removed since I do not share my phone number publicly?

I have read the newbie 101 guide and hoping that I am just missing something.

Thank you everyone!

Not sure about this directory thing you mention.   Where did you see it referred to?   You might be referring to having a profile page.   Only when a TER reviewer posts a review of you will you have this profile page, and the information in it comes from the reviewer.   If you find incorrect information or want to delete information such as a phone number, then you should click the "report a problem" link that you'll find on your profile page and tell TER what you want done and why.   They are often accommodating regarding this.

When you join TER you have provider status that allows you to use the entire site, but you can't get the "juicy" details in other gal's profiles and review; however you can read your own reviews in full.   To get to read all the review you need to pay for VIP status.

I assume by newbie 101 guide you are referring to the TER Manuel that is pinned to the posts on this board.   If you have not read that, then you need to do so as it pretty much covers all topics.

I hope this helps.

I have been having difficulty adding my website to the directory list. You may have to contact support.

Hello and welcome!

Yeah this site is sort of counterintuitive in a lot of ways and kinda behind the times in others. You’re definitely not alone in having trouble finding your way around.

One thing that confuses a lot of providers new to this site is the difference between your username or handle, vs your provider profile. You’re using your username to post on the boards. Your provider profile, which I linked at the bottom of my post (or at least the one I’m 99% sure is you), is where your reviews and basic info are. There are providers who have a username and post on the discussion boards, but don’t have a profile because nobody has reviewed them yet. You can’t create your profile, your first reviewer does that.

Point is just that they’re different things. Once a provider has both a username and a profile, they can get them “linked” by contacting admin through their username to “claim” their profile. After that is done, people will be able to go to your profile to see your reviews from any of your board posts in one click. Also you’ll get the “provider free VIP” which has some benefits.

This is where your case gets a bit complicated. Your profile has already been “claimed” by the username Savannahmae97401. Do you have access to that account, or did you used to? If you want to move your profile to this username you’re using now, or regain access to that other one, you need to contact admin.

There’s a contact us button on the bottom of every page on the site, or you can go in through the info and policy page.

Do you have access to the email that is listed on your profile? That would help in getting your accounts sorted out.

I see you have chimed in on a few conversations on the GD (general discussion) board. That’s a great start. I suggest doing the same on your local regional board, local ad board (read the rules first!) and anywhere else you see a conversation you’d like to add to. Maybe the photo only board. I love your pics, BTW.

Definitely contact admin about either recovering that Savannahmae97401 account or moving your profile to this one. When you do, refer to the TER ID number from the top of the profile. Yours is 109107

As far as your phone number, your website is linked on your profile and you state plainly on your site that you only give out your phone number after screening. Whoever put your number on your profile was kind of a jerk. I think it should be easy enough to get it removed by contacting admin.

Wander around the site and explore, especially the newbie board, and the info / policies pages. There’s a page in there called info for providers or something like that. I’m sure you’ll get your bearings soon enough. Come back here with any questions.

Good luck!
