There are no 'written in stone' rules. Many fine ladies are not that rigid on their screening, you just have to do your homework and search a little.
Many ladies who ask you fill out the contact form on their website will include a place to fill in your employment info. that they can discreetly verify. In the comments section just explain you have no references and some will agree to see you. Once you have seen one or two...problem solved.
