Re: The alias situation

The way I see it the term alias AS USED on this board is any name other than the one on your TER birth certificate.
For the purpose of this board The name on your TER birth certificate is your "real name" and any other name you use is an alias
As for me, I suppose, technically,  you could say I  have numerous aliases, however since the Followme family is so large I allow my cousins and other family menbers to sign on using my TER log in name then go to their names such as
SantaFollowmeClaus
FatherFollowme
EasterFollowmeBunny
PopeFollowmeLXIX
DrFollowmeOBGYN
RabbiFollowme
Followmeopolis
to name just a few of my family (there are many others )
So technically these are aliases , however in my case they are all real  members of the followme family.
To the best of my knowledge they do behave themselves.

I hope this clears it all up

What's with all the drama I've read on some board with using an "alias". What the hell does that mean anyway?

of using your TER ID or using an alias. You create aliases in the account manager section of the website.

The TER rules suggest that there are appropriate and inappropriate times to use one of these aliases. You are not supposed to use one to insult another poster. They are really designed for occasions when using your TER identity might compromise you in some way.

Many experienced posters, like myself, feel there are virtually no instances where you need to use aliases. You use your TER id because you are building a certain personality on-line. People build a sense of where you are coming from. If you don't have the balls to use your real ID, you probably shouldn't be posting the comment at all.

Also, most guys will be very reluctant to help out a guy with advice on a regional board if he uses an alias. You want to see someone's review history and that they are legit, before giving them advice regarding specific providers.

You can tell if someone has used an alias by noting whether the small e-mail icon appears next to their name in the "posted by" line.

For example, you didn't use an alias. I know because the e-mail icon is present. If you use an alias, then you won't see the icon since you can't use the TER system to send a private message to an alias.

using an alias. Some guys really object to it, personally I don't see much difference between the 1st alias and the 2nd alias.

If you click on ACCOUNT MANAGER at the top of the screen there is an option "Edit my aliases"

I use this alias ID for all my board posts.  I do it so I can speak freely without reflecting on the wonderful ladies who share their bed with me since my TER user-name is tied to my reviews.

Sometimes I like to get my point across directly, and without the fluff. I don't always feel like following the herd and I am not always politically correct either.
Because of my "real" board personality, I am sometimes taken seriously when I am not being serious.
The use of multiple aliases allows me to speak freely without giving up my "real" alias identity.
I also get to enjoy myself. It is one of the many perks by being a VIP member on TER.

I also confess to liking a little drama. It adds flavor to the hobby.

Reading the posts about those ranting against it is like listening to a fundamentalist preacher calling you a sinner. Morons.
