Let get real and stop blowing our own horn spewing hobby propaganda.  CDC estimates there are 19 million new STDs infections each year.  The prevalence of the INCURABLE Herpes-2 and HPV alone is 20%.  Getting tested for some STDs like Herpes, HPV and HIV will only tell you have an untreatable STD.  Searches of TER Poll archives you will find that 43% of us admit having a STD and 50% of us have never been tested (http://www.theeroticreview.com/poll/pollarchive.asp). Were all theses STD infections a result of civvie relationships only? Most who claim (especially hobbyist) to be tested negative regularly, have never been tested for all STDs especially HPV, the most frequently transmitted STDs. Condoms depending on the STD are only 65-95% effective.
Ignorance and misinformation are a major cause for the spread of STD.
The truth of manner as participants in this hobby we are at a somewhat higher risk for an STD infection by the various routes because we have multiple sexual partners; sexual partners who have multiple partners who may participate in high-risk sexual activities in and out of the hobby. You need to assess your own tolerance to risk and take the appropriate action you think necessary.

My biggest fear is coming home to the SO with a STD.
What are the odds of that happening if I play with a cover on?
Do the asian houses try to keep their girls clean?

Thanks

...They would be on this motherfucker screaming bloody murder every single day.

With over 120,000 reviewed providers (many of whom are working "full time") on TER alone and seldom a client expressing that he believes a provider has made him sick I think you're safe.

We test like clockwork because if we don't we endanger six figure incomes.

Our clients test pretty routinely because:
1.  They're typically responsible men with obligations to a spouse or significant other
2.  They're typically white collar or blue collar professionals OR independently wealthy with both means and access to sexual health education.

Stay off the streets and you should be a-okay.

Thanks everyone for you thoughts.
I plan on always use a cover.

Play safe,

Covers when used  properly are effective in preventing std's.

I take Levaquin (anti-biotic) periodically for a GI problem (it can not be passed to another person).  Would Levaquin knock out any bacterial STD's also?

I was fine before I started, and still fine now.  All my tests are negative.

I don't know about the asian houses, but you shouldn't have problem with independent ladies.

Like somebody told me before, there will be some risk in this, but total prevention from STDs is abstinence.

I'd much rather take the risk.

From my personal experience:

Use a cover.  Every time.
