Thanks guys!!!

I didnt ask my provider....I guess because I just assumed that she had regular STD testing. But do you providers do that? I rarely see a provider advertise that on her web site. Can you get an STD through uprotected oral sex?

yes, you can get an STD through unprotected oral sex.

Fact number one:The HIV virus is in the blood and blood products of the carrier. The blood of the carrier has to enter your blood stream to infect you.
Fact number two: Semen is a blood product
Fact number three: Salvia is not a blood product by itself, but it could have blood in it.
Fact number four: The HIV virus has a short life when it or it's host blood or blood product it is in leaves the body without entering another blood system. When the blood clots, dries or comes in contact with stomach acid the HIV virus dies.
Fact number five: If you don't have HIV you can't spread it and if they don't have it you can't get it.
Fact number six: Ignorance kills sex doesn't. Get tested, but be aware insurance companies view repeated testing as a red flag so be descrete.

The question was about STD's, in general, not HIV in particular.  While they may not be anywhere near as deadly, there are several other diseases/conditions, that are not blood based for which any and every responsible member of the hobby, whether male or female, should be tested on a regular basis.

This is indeed true, very good point. Hepatitis, all fevers, MRSA (methicillin resistant staphlococus Aria (I know I mispelled that), TB, and a host of others are not sexual diseases, but are easily transmitted through kissing even.

If you have cuts in your mouth, bleeding gums, any potential path to the bloodsteam, your odds go up on the blood transmission diseases too.

One comment on logistics. Why is anal so much more risky than say receiving oral(BBBJ)? Anal can cause tearing, blood etc. When receiving oral, the direction of flow is out of the pecker. This means that in general the risk is born much more by the giver than the receiver.

These are the facts as I understand them, but I defer to those with more experience. Sorry if I grossed ya out, but it is important you know the facts.
