I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this on. I thought there was a "technical" board for my kind of question, but I couldn't find it. If this is not it, please redirect me to the proper board.
My question is, is there a way to block mail from coming into my TER account? I'm not a VIP member and I keep receiving emails/messages there. I think I have two there now and I have no way to know who they're from or what they're about. Other sites give you the option to get messages from other members, or to show your email account so they can write you there directly. Is this a possibility here on TER?
If you have VIP you can block other members from PM'ing you. If you don't have VIP this function is not accessible. You may want to post on your local board that you are not currently VIP. If you have a hobby email address you could post that as well as an alternate way for folks to reach you.
What do you mean by posting on my local board? Do you mean making a general post saying tinoel does not accept PMs? I'm not sure you can just post to say that???
Use the drop down menu to find the city that you are located, or the closest city, or use the "other city" if nothing is appropriate for you. You can participate on your "local" board.
Yes, I understand, hiddenhills, but what would that do? I would go to my local board and just post a message saying that I cannot get PMs? That was my question and not, "What is a local board?"
Yes, that is what I suggested. Many others have done the same. Go to whatever boards you post most frequently on and make a post letting people who may be sending you PM's know that you are not currently a VIP. The PMs are probably coming from guys who want to ask you about someone that you have reviewed. Outside of paying for or earning VIP it is the only solution.
Another option would be to simply not worry about it. I PM folks all the time and never hear back. I just assume they don't have VIP status. It's not that big of a deal.

The PM's are likely coming from members on your local/regional board.
The other thinkg you can do is to get VIP, not only can yo see and send PM's there is so much really really cool stuff you can do and have lots of fun doing it.
