Re: Providers no longer, or ask to be never, on TER - bad sign?
yeah this site and 2 other sites are big for the DC area anyways because we don't have regional or state sites like a lot of other ladies do as far as verification and review sites go...I didn't know until a few months ago TER isn't that big a deal in a lot of areas.
In searching various sites and then coming back to check on reviews on TER, I have found more than a few providers who link to TER reviews, but when I hit the link I get a message about the account being deleted, or something like that. I also have noticed a few providers who specifically ask that you not review them, or direct you only to review them on specific sites (not TER).
Noted one cryptic message that said provider accounts are removed for LE issues or other violations of TER rules in one of the threads here, so I assume that getting this account deleted message is a very strong signal to stop, do not pass go, do not see this provider. Is that correct? Can anyone provide more specific information on why a provider would be removed from TER - like a list of reasons? Pretty unlikely I would go see one, but I am curious.
How about this other situation, when a provider specifically asks not to be reviewed on TER, or to only be reviewed on a specific site? Are there valid reasons for this that mean this provider is not an added risk for disappointment or worse?
As I said, I think the chance of me seeing anyone without a nice body of TER reviews over a period of some months is zero, but I also want to understand all the information I am gathering.
Thanks.
TER is not the only review site. I live on the west coast and if someone were to review me, I would prefer that it be on the site most appropriate to my location. Nothing against TER, it just makes more business sense.
Some providers avoid really public sites like this becasue they are raising children, going to school, etc and want to avoid conflicts between their providing and long term goals.
Providers can be removed for any number of reasons. Sometimes the provider herself requests it, or TER decided she broke the rules in some way and removed her administratively.
Generally speaking I think you should stick to people and situations you feel comfortable with. But in my experience, not being on TER is not that big a deal.

and no one from TER has contacted me yet as a client. They've chatted with me in PMs and agreed or disagreed with me on the board, but they aren't clients. There are other sites more prominent here than TER is. I have a couple reviews, but neither are on TER and aren't likely to be.
I can't imagine other sites being a fraction the size of TER.
Surprised they aren't dominating all regions.
I can understand that. I'd hate to have myself reviewed.
I see a couple of gals that have some TER reviews despite the fact that they asked me to not review them.
The ironic thing is that I probably wouldn't have seen them had they not had the reviews.
There are plenty of reasons a lady might have reviews removed.
1. Went UTR & no longer want reviews.
2. Got married & asked reviews be taken down.
3. A stalker might be harassing them & said provider changed name & asked previews review be removed.
4. Admin was told by a reviewer a provider asked not to be reviewed & admin delisted said provider.
Those are only a few that come to mind. TER is not the only review site & there are plenty of other places a provider might have review. Do what feels safe & have a great time
I'm in Northern California and TER is not the site we use. However, when I asked TER if I could link or reference back to the local site that has my reviews, I was told that there is no cross-reference to that particular site because they don't cross-ex with TER.
The only reason I even head of TER is because a gentleman traveling from FL contacted me through this popular review site for NoCal and then mentioned TER to me as his normal resource. I joined to get some national exposure for possible out of town clients where I could read their reviews of other ladies which is one of the most important ways for me to research for compatibility.
So far I think TER is great and I look forward to receiving reviews here. Personally, while I understand why some providers may not wish to be reviewed, I find it very helpful in allowing the client to get a feel for me (sorry for the pun) before he calls so that he feels comfortable knowing that he is going to enjoy his experience. In the end, it's about safety and having a good time, right? If reviews help hobbyists do that, then I say review her for your fellow brother's.

One of my regulars isn't on TER. She travels around the country and advertises on another website. She seems to be doing just fine.
Thanks for all the good answers, but they do leave me with one other question.
I know we cannot link to other review sites, so, and without any links, how would I find these sites? Would they be the sites I find provider profiles linking to for reviews sometimes on P411, for example, or is there some other place I can go to find these regional sites? I suppose a session of searches would eventually yield the answer, but if I can shorten that process, why not.
For the rest, I guess I understand that there is this entire safe provider world outside of TER, but since I have no clue how to get to that until someone plugs me into it, I guess I will stick with well-reviewed TER providers. Seems more than enough for now.
Color me a very happy, not so noob.
