Independent v. Agency

People seem to have a preference for independents over agencies.  Can someone explain why?

if a girl works for an agency, here are a couple of things for you to think about.

1.  the agency gets a cut of her donation
2.  she is likely a fairly high daily volume provider.

Granted, working for an agency relieves the provider of a lot of the behind-the-scenes work involved in setting up appts.  Since she does not have to do that, she has more time available to see clients.

I personally have never seen an agency girl, I prefer indies, mainly because of the two things I have mentioned.  I'd rather she get all the $, and I damn sure don't want to be her 8th client of the day.

You really have a good grasp of things here.  I enjoyed working for an agency while I was first finding my way.  I liked the safety precautions and not having to bother with advertising and answering phones.  It was an acceptable trade-off for sharing my fee.

The thing that bothered me most, is that some agencies (not all) truly do not care if the hobbiest has a nice time.  I hated being rushed by the phone manager, especially if they were booking back-to-back appointments.  I am much happier now that I can take my time in my sessions and really enjoy them.  And because I control who I see, I feel more comfortable which translates into a better time for all.  Limiting my appointments to just a few quality rendezvous per month has made all the difference as well since I'm never burned out.

I LOVE being an Independent!!

it can be harder to use an agency provider as a reference, since you don't contact her directly. In fact many independent providers won't accept an agency reference and some agencies don't give them.

LE often goes after agencies because they are bigger targets than indies.

I'd hate to have used an agency and they hear that they got busted and wonder if I'm going to get a call from LE asking me why my name and number were in their records.

Mr. Fisher has hit the nail on the head with this one. While most Indys say they destroy your personal info, I have my doubts. Agencies certainly retain all sorts of info, and I know a fellow professional in NC who was busted, and pled guilty, to a prostitution charge when his name and CC were found in a agency's records...

You are right but, your pal doubled up on the risk factor when he let the agency have credit card info, too.  That's what let LE know a transaction really took place.  Anyone who uses a credit card in their real name to do this is nuts.
PS:  I have used agencies and they will accept P411 and DateCheck just like indies.  So the risk of them having the info is less.

it's been and age-old topic here forever.

Think of it this way. Do you want to buy coffee at Dunkin' Donuts or you local city corner coffee shop. The coffee can be equally as good and there are perks at each establishment. In the end it's your choice.

Indie providers can be just as risky as agency girls. But typically Indie girls are reviewed whereas agency girls are not. Agency girl's photos are usually professional(photo shop masters) Also the girls who work for agencies only get a percentage of the rate you give them. Which means they may have to work twice as hard to get what a Indie girl gets.

You will find men who will preach for both sides but in the end it's your choice. Maybe try out a few agency girls and then a few indie girls and see which you like best?
