I applied to an ad on cl for an upscale agency. the guy wants to meet me for a "date" to make sure i can follow thru before i see clients. we talked on the phone and he was very open about everything; said the guys use condoms etc. I found it very odd that he wasn't more discreet. how can i tell if this is legit or not??

ahh ok...i wanted to be cautous but just wanted to get another opinion.

No legitimate agency owner will ever ask you to prove that you will "follow thru".  Don't go looking on CL for employment. All you will find is trouble.

I'm a nice guy...run a great agency...now give me sex?  You can't possibly fall for that...run do not walk away!!!!!  there are some great agencies run by ex- or current providers, find one of them (ask established providers, keep an eye out here, etc...) a quality agency can be invaluable for a  newbie...and a bad agency or scam could hurt you forever.

Sprint away from this situation. The guy is a fraud. Use your TER regional board to the left of this post to scope out ads from legitimate agency owners.
