I understand that most people want providers with a history of solid reviews, but I have to say that as a provider making the transition from word-of-mouth it REALLY blows. I have a top-notch website that I slaved over, but as soon as I admit that I have no reviews, no client will talk to me! I've been lucky and have spent time with a few gentlemen that were willing to write reviews, but then comes the whole process of where to post them and will the posts even be accepted? All I can say is, gents--give a girl a chance!! Ladies without reviews--just keep trying! Nowhere to go but up, right? :)
I so agree with you Bianca! I'm a newbie (3months)in this wonderful world and i had to start somewhere! yes i advertize on BP! It was the best place for me to start and I'm happy lots of gents took time to email, text or phone me. I was fortunate enough to have a reputable and experience provider vouching for me also...that helped me a lot! I do have a few recommendation on other board but none here yet!

Just want to learn how the "veterans" here do research on providers without a review on TER.  I know you can Google the phone number to see if anything turns up, and do a "Google image search" for the pic to see if it was stolen from another site.  Beyond this, what are other ways you would research a provider?

Asking the local board is a great idea but, also it depends on where you find the provider, Backpage may bring a lot of bad surprises, (not denying that great providers also advertise there but it is very rare), you can also run your images through www.tineye.com and see what results you get, keep in mind that with the easily available ability to get new phone numbers, the Google search may not help.
My advice, stick to well reviewed providers in your region so no bad surprises or dangerous situations arise. Taking one for the team (TOFTT) is not recommended, unless you really want to take the unnecessary risk.

...look for reviews on other review boards. Can't name them here but there are some. I can't speak to their reliability but I've seen others here mention they do check other sites when they don't find any here.

Though the common advice to newbies is to stick with well reviewed providers, once you are more comfortable, you'll find they can be just as flaky, late, and full of shit as someone with no reviews. Bottom line, you need to back channel guys she's actually been with who don't mind talking to you, and please do not ask them personal questions that are not in a review, because that's a red flag for us.  

I had a guy once PM 6 of my clients to find out shit about me, and it was not because he wanted to see me...again. It was because he was an ex SD trying to dig up dirt on my activities.

i personally will not PM a guy with no reviews because without a track record you really have no idea who you are talking too..veterans also have access to many UTR listings..mostly high end providers who have no reviews and do not want any..once you are established..you hopefully will have access to them..

I can completely relate. What I'd like to add is the fact that even reviews are no sure way to verify a provider-I won't go into why as that is a whole, giant can of worms worthy of an essay. It might just be worth it then, I think, to delegate the time instead to read over that website one slaved over, and to think of other ways of maybe, really checking the provider out. Just as we, as providers, need to be creative in the way we screen potential patrons, so do, potential patrons in the way they screen their potential providers. Besides, a score of 1-10 isn't everything, even if we've been culturally conditioned to think so.

I have received a few but it was difficult to get the first one. One thing I noticed is that quite a few of my clients had tried more than once to review me but are rejected and not sure why really. So maybe I had a few good reviews before but they weren't accepted. Maybe because they were too good lol

    I'm in the same boat. I'm a newbie and have contacted two or three well reviewed providers on TER. They asked me for some basic personal info as I have no reviews and I haven't heard back from them. Am I better off trying an agency? I'm very leery of backpage because most of the listings produce a no records found here. Not sure what to do "catch 22"

     Thank you for the advice. I guess patience is a virtue. I'll keep trying however I read a NJ post about LE activity regarding BP. I certainly don't need that drama so I'll keep doing research. I came across this ad and was interested:

It wouldn't hurt to send a very polite, very succinct email stating that you'd like to hear a yes or no, and that you're willing to provide other ways to verify yourself if necessary. Just make sure that you don't send too many emails or make them too wordy, because it might come off as pushy. You could try employment verification, or suggest drinks first. Someone will be sympathetic to your situation, so you just have to be patient I think. :) An agency is a good idea, because that at least shows that you're a respectable and respectful guy, and it will definitely count in your favor if the provider you see is willing to vouch for you.

anoter Bianca's advice lol (BJ): @pipingman, dont be afraid of BP...i know there is a lot of B/S on there as i was told...but do some research on the ladie you are intersted in and use your gut feeling...so far its working good for me! A phone conversation can give you a good feeling about someone...best of luck!

But quite honestly, most guys on here ( thankfully), have 0 interest in finding "GEMS".Most girls/ladies are only into this for a minute and here is what those of us that do TOFTT know...UTR  GEMS  are so worth the time spent IMHO!
But that's my opinion, that's how I like to hobby, it works fan-fucking-tastic for me.Established providers cuss me at every opportunity & Elite hobbyist feel the need to act superior and tell everyone who & how to do this.
I started off without knowledge of TER and was on here years before I knew about this newbie forum.Not  1 person on here is you,not 1 person on here is gonna pay you to see a certain provider..it's your money.
But know this, if  xyz  shills for an agency or certain providers..you can bet your ass they are getting PERKS!!
Now if you want to "PM" me I'll be happy to give you the "skinny" on how to "qualify" a new girl.But also know there are risks & there are disappointments & even my GEMS of 3,4,&5 years can be temperamental, just as I &you can be.
