Brushing too hard can open small cuts in the mouth (DATY or BBBJ) and the alcohol in mouthwash kills the natural bacteria in your mouth that actually does kill some germs.
I was about to ask the same question but with better english skills -- how can I trust that a provider who's been in the business for a long time is safe to get a BBBJ from? After a while, isn't it highly probably that she'll catch something from a client?
I bring a bottle of mouthwash with me and ask the provider to rinse out. Most providers know that hygiene is important. Bring a small bottle of mouthwash and have them rinse out, most of them are happy to oblige and it makes them feel more comfortable about you that you also care about hygiene.
Everyone has germs, regardless, the goal is to lower the amount of germs. Always have mouthwash and alcohol wipes with you.

What good will mouthwash do to protect against oral STD transmission? Also, what do you use the alcohol wipes for?

i think that if the site wanted peeps to look in archives, they would categorize topics. (unless that is already done_i wouldn't know...i'm a newbie). But who would want to dig their way back to 2002 to find related questions? Some people don't the time to do this, while some others do.
As far as stds, a bbbj is low risk for a guy as long as you don't have a open wound/sore on your penis. You would really only be concerned if a girl had an oral gonorrhea infection or HIV. But even then, transmission of the disease to you from bbbj is not likely, to the point I really wouldn't worry about it. The girl, on the other hand, has every reason to worry which is why I completely understand when a girl won't do bbbj. After all, she needs to look out for herself as well.
I think your main risks are from HSV 1 and 2. A lot of people already have it and if you do, then you don't have to worry. But if you are HSV-free you might want to be careful about BBBJs.
