I'm a n00b, been a member here for about 4 months. But I've been fairly active posting, asking questions, learning the ropes of the hobby. And I'm wondering, will my posts always be moderated? Are everyone's posts moderated? The only place my posts are not moderated are in the Sports and Politics/Religion forums. But in the GD forum, and even my regional forum, my posts have to be approved before showing up.
So what's a n00b have to do to shed his n00bness in this respect? Do I have to write a review? Do you guys need to initiate me somehow? Do I have to run through the Quad naked? Does LP need to give me an atomic wedgie?! (Atomic, meaning, the waistband goes over the head...for those of you who've not had the pleasure.)
As far as I know all posts on this board are moderated.
I could've sworn I once read a moderator threatening to place a member on moderation status. And I don't believe it was in the Sports or Politics/Religion forums.
At one time, a moderator would just decide on his/her own to unmoderate a poster. I seem to recall it took me about 2-3 weeks.
Now, if I recall correctly, a poster must write to the moderator and request to be unmoderated. I believe that if you are unmoderated on one board, then you are unmoderated on all boards, but you ought to inquire if that is still true.
But I already had a review approved before I started to post. I never asked to get unmoderated. Now the second time I was moderated it took about a week to get unmoderated. I think I must be lucky as I have never had a review declined and my time moderated was short. I know I lived a blessed life.
Naw, he's got way thicker skin than that. And besides, he'd just acknowledged in a PM a couple days ago that he knew I owed him a dig. So my referring to him as "some guy" was letting him off easy. LoL
As another newbie who's been posting a fair amount over the past couple of weeks I have to ask, why should it bother anyone to be moderated? I mean, are we really sharing such time-sensitive info here that it might matter if we had to wait a half hour for our posts to appear? It ain't like we're sending each other tips about an imminent attack by OBL (that's Osama Bin Laden, not Orgasmic BJ Lips) or something (lol). Personally, I don't care if some wiser soul reads this before letting it see the light of day...
