Lacking confidence - getting nervousconfused_smile

Okay, I'm definitely a newbie who is excited about the possibilities.  With that said, I ran across a note that said one city has a MANDATORY 45 jail time for first time solicitation.  That scares the hell out of me because that is the city I've been visiting and thinking about starting.  That led me to find the website below that lists each states' penalty for solicitation.

Frankly, this is beginning to scare the hell out of me.  As much as I want to start this experience I'm feeling - if you can't to the time (I can't), then don't do the crime.

Your thoughts?

Hey Rock,

Do your homework!

What I mean is that RESEARCH, RESEARCH and RESEARCH!!

Check out the providers in your area, just don't take the provider's advertisement as gold. If the provider is listed on TER, check her out!!

Ask the hobbyists in here, too! Who knows that there may be a few that have seen the provider(s) in question.

Consider a monthly membership to TER, it's cheap and you'll get valuable information during your research and it's FAR cheaper than a huge criminal fine and days in jail along with a criminal record. This is NOT a plug for TER VIP membership, but it's a wise investment.

Yes, it's a time consuming process to check out the providers in any website, but if you do this, this will lessen the chances of getting busted. Nothing in life is 100% fool-proof, but if you play it smart with your BIG head, then you should do just fine!

I've been doing this for many years and never had gotten busted because I followed other people's advise about doing the research.

Even after doing all of this and you're still scared crapless, then I'd recommend that you DO NOT become a hobbyist and find another way to satisfy your needs.

If you've done your homework, booked with a well reviewed provider and taken all the precautions you can learn about by reading this board and the Self Help Manual, you should be fine.  Just conduct yourself with proper caution while going to the session and you'll have a great time.  Most of the guys who are busted are not TER members seeing well reviewed girls.  Your risk, assuming you've done all the above, is actually very low.
Of course, this will never be a completely risk-free endeavor and some nervousness is healthy.

What you see on this site are the max penalties, but no one serves that kind of time for a first offense misdemeanor. Plus, if you see a well established provider you wont have a problem.
Stings seem to occur in motels where LE has cooperation from the managers, and many times they go back a year later and do the same thing. Stay away from these situations. Also, once you see a well known provider they can give you advise on others, since many providers know each other and can help with your references. Good luck and we all have those concerns initially.

Do your research. Yes, I have been out of the hobby for a long time and things have changed now, but I'm getting back into the game and I, too, am nervous about LEO. I think that's natural.

What is the possibility of you traveling to a zone with a lesser first time penalty when you want to break the ice and get the first notch on your belt?

You have to know the area, in other words, keep an eye on the news of the area.  In my area, busts for "solicitation" usually mean street activity that has been reported by neighborhood watches.  Easy for LE to post a undercover policewoman in the affected area, and to nab the johns who solicitate them, x dollars for a certain act.  Anyone who operates at the street level, along with the drug pushers is crazy IMHO.
