As far as agencys taking half It is common in Toronto and my experience in NYC....so yes to BostonGuy that stated agencys dont take 50%, I guess it depends on what agency you work for
And also, my sarcasm on here was missed
I don't need to be tipped My rates are higher than most
I read a lot , and I mean a lot is posted on the question about 'tipping', so I always post back 'yeah tip big and tip well'....
More of a general statement in life, be it that for an agency girl, the pizza man or your local waitress
I usually tip about a C note for a two to three hour rendevous, and double that for overnighters; but like the others say, it's a pretty controvertial topic on here.
This is a question with no right or wrong answer. I tip cash sometimes, other times I bring a gift or buy dinner and sometimes I tip nothing at all above the gal's fee. A class lady will always appreciate a tip but never go fishing for one.
Indy's not as much Agency girls FOR SURE, as they have to give pretty much half of their income to the agency!
BUT During this holiday season, why not give a 'little extra' to your fav. gal, be it if she is with or without an agency. ALWAYS nice to get a thoughtful gift. WINE is a great gift!
A provider suggesting that big tips are always in order!!! I know you are kidding.
What really shocks me is an indy perpetuating the myth that agency gals are more deserving of tips than indys. Sure, they surrender a portion of their share to the agency, but they also aren't responsible for the costs of advertising, incall location, and screening, and aren't tied up checking email every hour.
I've long been on the record as being anti-tip. but I love bringing gifts, these make a great ice breaker!!!
2. Incall location (whether hotel, apartment or condo - with furnishings)
3. PC and internet. Most providers have internet and PC cababilities at their incall. This costs $.
4. Costs associated with prescreening. (fees and time as time = $)
5. Refreshments.
They simply show up for their appointment at a given time and place. If an incall is setup, its at the cost of the agency.
Tips and gifts are always a welcome surprise, but never expected. But, neither party (independent or agency) is more deserving as each has their own costs associated with doing business. And, after all, no matter how much fun it is for both parties... its still a business.

Agency girls that I use in Boston DO NOT give up half of their fee to the agency. They also DO pay half or more of their in call expense.
Agency girls are not sworn into indentured servitude, they make a conscious decision to book through an agency and they pay that agency a fee to represent them, promote them, book them and screen for them. These are all activities that indie girls have to pay for out of pocket.
For me, it depends on the lady I am seeing. If she is low fee, then I tend to tip (I feel bad for paying so little). If she is already expensive, then I consider her fee "all inclusive". If she was really great, then I see her again. If she doesn't want to see me again because I didn't tip, then so be it.
IMHO: When she writes on her web page: "fees are non-negotiable", then I take it as: "This is what I want, and I am happy with it". If I think her fee is reasonable, then I pay it. We are both happy. End of Story.
