I read some article saying that, there is vaccination for herpes even for adults. I'm in US. Has anyone here got it ?

I've not heard of a vaccine for herpes.  Would do that in a heart beat!

Trials have been made in adults so they just have to wait and see what type of results this brings...roughly, maybe a couple of years or less...

From what I know, once you are passed 26, the HPV vaccine is not very effective.

Hepatitis vaccine is administered in a series of shots.

No herpes vaccine that I know of.

There is no currently available herpes vaccine. The NIH announced an initial clinical trial of an investigational herpes vaccine a few days ago. Expect years until approved and readily available, if it even works.

However, IMHO, we should all have the vaccines for Hepatitis A and B; there is no vaccine for Hep C but there is some limited evidence that the A/B vaccines might provide some cross-immunity to Hep C. Also the HPV vaccine: there are two versions, the newer one is effective gainst a broader cross-section of HPV strains. Age isn't a factor in effectiveness of the vaccine for an individual, it is an epidemiological factor designed to target folks who are likely to benefit the most from the vaccine - those who have had limited exposure to other partners. The vaccine won't "cure" an existing infection, but it might protect against other strains, I think?

Herpes zoster causes shingles, a painful skin condition.  There is a new vaccine called Zostavax approved for "shingles" Herpes zoster.

Herpes simplex does not have a vaccine.  Genital herpes is frequently HSV-2; oral herpes is frequently HSV-1
